API

Your Destinations Real Estate is API-certified and fully compliant with the new regulations in Spain that, as of October 2023, require real estate agents to register as official API (Agente de la Propiedad Inmobiliaria) and thereby become part of the national professional association of real estate agents in Spain. The purpose of these new regulations is to protect consumers who purchase real estate in Spain.

Being part of the API entails completing a 200-hour real estate training program that includes multiple interim exams, ensuring that we are well-versed in all current real estate laws and regulations in Spain. In addition to this training, the new regulation also imposes the following requirements:

• A deposit insurance policy with a minimum guarantee limit of €60,000.
• A professional liability insurance policy with a minimum coverage of €600,000.
• The obligation to provide up-to-date information on current laws and regulations.
• Compliance with mandatory professional qualifications.
• Regular updates to professional knowledge.
